Follow-up Report o= n ACT Kaplan Test Prep Method: Mr. Brimacombe stated that he surveyed the = high school staff as to the test preparation options.  He did not find that there was any= interest in the Kaplan method which trains teachers to use the program.  There is concern that this method = is too time-intensive.

The shift to “top down” planning was explained.  Currently the district is building curriculum by looking at an exiting senior and working down through the gra= des to ensure a student will be successful by graduation.

Data-Driven Decisi= on Making and Evidence-Based Accountability: Mr. Nolan led a discussion on the as= sessment and accountability systems in the district, as well as how the new Course W= ork Completion System data that will soon become part of the process will be utilized.  He emphasized that = the district should be better able to asses whether graduates will have the ski= lls necessary to compete and graduate from college.
